Leadership Practices Inventory (LPI) 360
Based on the book The Leadership Challenge by Kouzes and Posner, the Leadership Practices Inventory (LPI) uses a 10-point frequency scale to measure how often up to 10 raters have observed 30 specific leadership behaviors being exhibited by the person being assessed. These leadership behaviors can all be learned — they are not innate skills that only a lucky few have been born with. In addition to the quantitative data gathered on the 30 behaviors, qualitative data is also gathered through four open-ended questions. The LPI is an evidence-based, rigorously tested 360-degree assessment grounded in three decades of original research and data from millions of leaders around the world, and is applicable to everyone from seasoned leaders to new managers. In addition to receiving a full report on their results, participants receive a development planner and a workbook to facilitate their learning and development based on their results.
TalentSmart Emotional Intelligence Appraisal® - Multi-Rater & 360º
Available in two versions — multi-rater and 360° - the TalentSmart Emotional Intelligence Appraisal provides feedback from others on your emotional intelligence based on both closed- and open-ended questions. The test uses proprietary methods developed by experts in psychological assessments who conducted research on hundreds of thousands of responses to ensure the test is both quick and accurate. DISC® Assessment of Communication Styles by TTI
The DISC® Assessment of Communications Styles has long been a highly respected instrument for measuring our go-to styles for communication, both naturally, and when we adapt them to behave the way we think we should show up in the workplace. There are four style preferences that are presented: D for Dominance, I for Influencing, S for Steadiness, and C for Compliance. Every individual’s communications style is is a unique blend of these four components. The secret is to understand your style and the styles of others in order to communicate with one another in a meaningful way that meshes with the needs of the other person. This internet-based self-assessment requires only 10 minutes to complete, generates a 20+ page report on the individuals, and has an 88 percent validation score. One-on-one report debriefs are offered, as well as workshops appropriate for groups and intact teams.
Skyline Group 360
The Skyline Group 360 allows an unlimited number of raters to weigh in on the 28 leadership competencies that their research has shown are critical to supporting individual success in an organizational environment. The competencies are distributed among 4 domains: Leading Self, Leading Others, Leading the Organization and Managing Implementation/Execution. Including both scaled-response questions and open-ended questions, the resulting report includes a high degree of granularity allowing the participant to understand the distribution of responses to each individual question, broken down by rater groups, e.g. peers, direct managers, etc. Administered online, the scaled-response questions on this 360 can be completed within 10 minutes. The optional open-ended questions allow for as much detail as the rater chooses to provide.
Based on Lencioni’s The 5 Dysfunctions of a Team
The team assessment is a web-based tool that helps a team identify
its strengths and weaknesses — using anonymous input from the perspective of each individual team member — based on the observed frequency of specific behaviors and perceptions in the arenas of trust, conflict, commitment, accountability and results.
Among the many uses of this report, one is to serve as a conversation-starter for a team to explore the changes they need to make and the relationships they need to establish become a high- performing team. For teams enrolling in the Five Dysfunctions of a Team Workshop, the report generated from of this assessment is the starting point.
Overworked and Overwhelmed? (Self-Assessment)
Are you interested in knowing just how overworked an overwhelmed you really are? The Eblin Group’s self-assessment that is a companion to the Life GPS® methodology is a 16-question paper-based instrument. Based on the book Overworked and Overwhelmed? The Mindfulness Alternative, by Scott Eblin, this assessment is the starting point for helping you identify how you are when you show up at your best, what are the routines you need to put in place — in four domains: physical, mental, spiritual and relational — to ensure that you show up at your best more constantly, and what are the outcomes you can expect — in three domains: home, work, and community — if you are consistent about incorporating those routines in your life. Every participant in the Life GPS®/Overworked and Overwhelmed/The Mindfulness Alternative workshop is provided with this assessment automatically.
The interview-style 360 assessment is used exclusively by clients who plan to work with Sharon Griggs as their executive coach. The client selects between 8 and 12 colleagues with whom Sharon will conduct 60-minute, confidential interviews. She meets with each individual face-to-face, posing 15 open-ended questions about how the client is perceived on a variety of dimensions, plus 20 quick, closed-ended questions based on Marshall Goldsmith’s book “What Got You Here Won’t Get You There.” Following the interview, Sharon prepares a 10 - 15 page written report that includes many direct quotations from the interviewees, careful never to disclose the name or profile of the individual so that anonymity is preserved. From this revealing report, the coaching client is able to determine his/her focus areas for the coaching engagement, and is able to write a personal development plan that will guide the course of their work together.
The Organizational Climate Assessment
The Organizational Climate Assessment is interview-based research conducted on behalf of a leader who seeks to learn the opinions of 8 - 12 of his or her team members with respect to such issues as leadership strengths and weaknesses, communications effectiveness, continuous improvement efforts, the extent of problem avoidance, how meaningful their works is, who are their role models within the organization, whether mistakes are handled in a healthy manner or not, how well balanced the organization is between people-orientation and goal-orientation, etc. Whatever questions the leader wants to explore can be included in the interviews. The nature of interview-style research vs. written questionnaire-based research is that the interviewer can probe on questions to determine the root cause of issues that are identified. As in the "Interview Style 360," Sharon Griggs personally conducts these interviews and prepares a 10 - 15 page written report that includes many direct quotations from the interviewees, careful never to disclose the name or profile of the individual so that anonymity is preserved.
